Hi-Search Technology (HIST) Limited is an independent Laboratory, staffed with experienced Scientists, Microscopists, Metallurgists and Analysts. It has been operating since 1993 and became limited in 1995 when it moved to its present purposely built laboratory; about 100 metres from famously known Spaghetti Junction (M6 - junction 6).
The laboratory is internationally recognised as a centre of excellence, equipped with modern laboratory facilities, providing defects and failure investigations, chemical analysis, materials testing, environmental analysis, structural geological analysis, oil content in sand and/or soil, water analysis, SEM imaging, SEM-EDX analysis, fracture and surface topography and, materiallography.
Hi-Search Technology (HIST) Limited also provide expert testimony, corrosion resistance testing to BS, ASTM, AU, German Din and French Standard, coatings thickness measurement, advice to various surface finishers including galvanising and organic/polymer powder coatings. Other services include asbestos fibres survey and identification, petrographic examinations of materials - concrete, rocks, sands and aggregates, advice on design and selection of materials for corrosion control and prevention.
